Module 3 Reflection

I started off this module learning about Cloud Computing. This is a topic that I felt I was already familiar with because I've been using Google Drive for work for many years. One benefit of cloud computing that I appreciate is the ability to collaborate with my grade level team. We have many shared planning documents, resource folders, data sheets, and google slide presentations just to name a few of the things we all store on the cloud. My school also stores many of the resources teachers need to access daily and weekly on Google Drive, such supply order forms, IEP snapshots, our weekly bulletins etc. I also appreciate that I can access the documents stored on the cloud from any of my devices. There have been a few instances where I have forgotten to do something but I'm not near my work computer, and I was able to access what I needed through the app on my phone.
Next, I explored how to use and create QR codes and Infographics. The assignment for this was really fun and I think our cohort's idea of the monopoly board was really creative. I haven't created or used QR codes for my class personally and this module got me thinking of ways I could incorporate the use of QR codes in my teaching. One idea is to create a class photo album and create a QR code to give my students' families access to the album. Another idea was to create a class webpage and send home a QR code for families to access it. Last, I usually send home a letter at the beginning of the year introducing myself, and I thought of also making a video, and putting a QR code to the video on my letter for families to watch.
I ended the module with some more practice with HTML. In the 5600 class we've learned some basics, and I appreciated the extra practice that this module gave me. I felt more comfortable using Sublime and creating my webpage. I had struggled to add images on past assignments, but I was able to successfully add two pictures to my webpage on this assignment and I was proud of that. I'm looking forward to continuing my HTML learning.
